About Us

MUSICIANSHIP & TECHNIQUE

Developing proper technique is the foundation of musicianship. It requires time and a strong commitment to following a step-by-step method that will produce a rich and pleasing musical tone. As such, our lessons included personalized observations and strategies for improvement.

Our goal is progress through individualized lesson plans developed for each student's learning style, goals, and personality. Progress and practice go hand-in-hand. We provide the tools and incentives to encourage our students to maintain a strong commitment to practice, making music a part of their everyday routine.

MUSICEVERYDAY BEGINNINGS

Val Letenyei founded MusicEveryday! in 2008 while teaching private lessons both from her home and at Music4Life in North Liberty, Iowa.  After moving back to her home state of Michigan in 2014 and sending her two girls off to college, Val had an opportunity to go from part-time teaching to full-time teaching and studio owner.  MusicEveryday! allows her and her team of excellent teachers to educate students in a variety of musical techniques ranging from classical, jazz, pop, sacred and even allows students to explore their own musical creations.  The teachers of MusicEveryday! specialize in building musicianship in their students through a strong foundation of technique, music literacy that combines both visual and auditory skills.  Students perform in 2 recitals per year and participate in th

 Royal Conservatory National Certificate Program.

OWNER & TEACHER

Val's early musical training began at the age of 8 with private teachers who required her to practice daily and gave her a strong musical foundation. Throughout High School and College, Val continued to study music and realized as a young wife and mother that her calling was to teach music to others.  Under the careful instruction of Nancy Schaaf and Karen Nichols at Dayspring School of the Arts in St. Louis, Missouri, Val learned the value of training students in technique, theory, and music history. Val is a Licensed Kindermusik Educator and an Elementary Pedagogy Specialist, certified to teach Preparatory through Intermediate piano repertoire.  Val enjoys teaching all genre of music including classical, jazz, pop & sacred.  Her 17 years of teaching experience began in St. Louis, Missouri, North Liberty, Iowa and now in Spring Lake, Michigan!

MusicEveryday! began in a small 3 room office suite owned by Lou Draeger in Spring Lake.  With 2 other teachers joining the team, more students enrolled and within a year, we moved up the road to our current location where we have recently remodeled to accomodate up to 4 lessons/classes who can meet at the same time.  We now have 11 teachers and 170+ students attending private lessons in Piano, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, Violin, Wind/Brass, Drums and group classes - Kindermusik, Homeschool Band and Homeschool Choir.  We continue to grow and welcome all ages!  Please call or stop by for more information!
